Experience Through Their Eyes

Oh my goodness! You have to go to The Kitchen in Sussex!! Ordered pancakes and a side of ham. Both were delicious. The pancakes are practically the size of hubcaps. I brought 2 home. Staff is so friendly and they kept the coffee flowing. A friend also ordered pancakes but with sausage links and she enjoyed both. Another friend had basic breakfast with eggs, bacon and toast.

Well, this super cute restaurant is a hidden gem. We sat at the counter near the door, which I would not suggest in winter time it gets a little cold. We had delicious food, including eggs, egg skillet, pancake, egg, and hashbrowns, and a side of corned beef hash. Everything was delicious!!

The breakfast food was prepared in an excellent manner, very clean open kitchen kids loved watching . Pancakes are exceptional, and have a very great homemade taste. Stuffed hash browns, omelettes, and French toast were all excellent. Staff is extremely welcoming , very kid friendly atmosphere. There is a real pride to ownership at the restaurant. Two people in our party got wraps they liked those as well. We will have to give this a try for dinner or a fish fry. The only improvement I could suggest is having a sign at the front telling people to seat themselves. There was a bit of confusion at the entrance of people waiting to pay and waiting to be seated they didn't have to wait. Overall, for someone looking for a good diner with quality food this would be the place. If you have young kids, I wouldn't hesitate going. First time going and will be returning.

We really enjoyed breakfast here. Service was good and the portions were ample. The stuffed hash browns were delicious...the brisket did not disappoint! The hash browns were crispy on the outside and seasoned well. My over easy eggs were a little over done, but the pancakes were good sized (ask for blueberries!).

This place is great! It's a cozy diner with a lot of character! The staff was very nice, attentive, and checked on us often. My food was also tasty, modestly priced, and prepared quickly. I order the meat Lovers scrambler with hash browns and I would definitely get it again. Highly recommended giving them a try for breakfast! The only thing I did not enjoy was the coffee. I felt it was bitter, but everything else was on point.

A couple of weeks ago I had the Friday cod loin fish fry, the batter on the fish was excellent thin and crunchy, fish was moist, potato pancakes were tasty along with the coleslaw and Marbled rye. Tonight I had the smoked brisket chimichanga (not deep fried) crispy non greasy and excellent flavor , extra heavily loaded beans had a great variety of smoked meat added. Service has been great on all 3 of my visits. Portions at the "Kitchen" are generous and price reasonable. So nice to have a restaurant in Sussex with a professional meat smoker and the skill to use it.... Forget to mention the Home made pies , I had the peanut butter pie WOW
